Definition (in a digital/TEC context)
Digital Social Care (digitalsocialcare.org.uk)
Digital Social Care

Temporary storage area for data or other content that will be updated if the source information changes. The purpose of a cache is to reduce the time to retrieve the same information more than once, and most modern systems will use multiple levels of cache. Downloading content is not a cache because it doesn't update if the source information changes.
