When assessing whether an individual is of good character, providers should make every effort to make sure that as a minimum, they seek all available information to confirm that: - They have not been convicted of an offence in any country that would be considered an offence in the UK, if the offence relates to the conduct required in carrying on a regulated activity. - They have not been erased, removed or struck off a professional register.
