Digital/TEC definition
Tunstall in-house glossary

The protocol used to send digital data over a computer network and/or the internet. The transition to digital essentially means that in the TEC sector there is a shift to IP for alarm and voice communications, moving away from the older analogue equivalents that are being phased out. IPACS, Now IP, SCAIP, CENELEC are all examples of IP signalling methods, or protocols.
