Practitioners include people working in all settings and in different roles - for example, social workers, health professionals and care home staff. Practitioners could also include those with designated roles, such as care coordinators or key workers.

In this guideline, 'practitioner' is used to mean a health or social care practitioner who provides care and support for older people with learning disabilities.

A person who works in a skilled job such as social work, nursing or medicine, providing care or support directly to people.
