NICE Guideline NG214 - Integrated health and social care for people experiencing homelessness

A statutory multi-agency group set up by a local authority made up of different professionals from a local authority, the NHS and police to prevent abuse or neglect of adults who have care and support needs, and to make sure that action is taken if abuse occurs. The safeguarding adults board focuses on the core safeguarding agenda - prevention, identification, investigation and treatment of the abuse of vulnerable adults. It develops safeguarding policies and procedures, participates in the planning of safeguarding services, gives guidance and direction to those responsible for service delivery and champions good practice.

Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) Jargon Buster

A formal group set up by your council to prevent abuse or neglect of adults in your area who have care and support needs, and to make sure that action is taken if abuse occurs. Every area has to have a SAB, which is made up of different professionals from the council, NHS and police, working together and sharing information. SABs also include representatives from groups that work with older people and people with disabilities.
