The Socitm Advisory team were fortunate enough to be a part of the CIPFA Public Finance Live 2019 annual conference, this year held in the Birmingham ICC. Armed with our brand new stand and revamped company image the team were ready for two days of seminars, speaker talks and conversations with public finance figures and Local Council delegates. As one of the leading public finance events of the year it is a highly anticipated event on the yearly calendar of all our employees.

All Socitm Advisory attendees got stuck in and actively became a part of this important conversation. We spoke to our Director of Sales and Marketing, Mark Adams-Wright, to discuss his experience of the conference and some of the takeaways and lessons Socitm Advisory learnt over the two days.
'This year’s conference was excellent, very well attended with a thought provoking and challenging agenda. The event was as always very well organised with plenty of opportunities to speak to and learn more from the delegates without feeling pressured by time. More than ever we were engaging in conversations across the broader Public Sector, and attending the event really showcased to us the amazing talent currently in the public sector.
Overall we learnt that increasingly the challenges and concerns of the delegates were less specific to a particular sector but more consistent across them, with themes such as digital transformation, ICT readiness for the future and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) choices in a cloud age. We also learned that independent support and advice is something that remains valued as they grapple with the right answers for their organisations of these and other related topics.
Socitm Advisory has always had very strong resonance and links to CIPFA and this year’s conference has only served to enhance the relevance and value of that relationship yet further. We have many conversations to continue as we seek to help more organisations across the Public Sector to find new and innovative ways to address their challenges and we are delighted to have selected our space already for next year’s event.'
